Klaus :: Smeerensburg - scary houses concept art

The task was to design two scary houses that Jesper was supposed to sneak into. On top of that the first one had to resemble Mrs Krum's silhouette holding a frog toy. That would be a 2d camera pan so I considered a simple sphere projection on a portion of the sphere. You can test it in panorama projection. I really enjoyed the task however I failed to paint a horror like sky that would be within our style boundaries.
Eventually we ended up having only the first house in the movie. This is a concept art only, the final BG has been painted by Thibaut Denise.
