Klaus :: bird forest designs

These are the concept that I created to depict the moment when Jesper confronts the weird woodsman in his chopping pit. We wanted to make this scenery a bit scary and uncomfortable for Jesper. Later we had to introduce the mysterious wind and we felt that the light should help shift the mood. That's what we came up with.

Klaus down there chopping the wood. You don't want to see this man turning to you...

Entrance to the chopping pit in fog.

The same entrance backlit. The sun is rising that's why the light comes down from the top towards the bottom.
This concept turned into a BG eventually.
